Trading Rules

What is the inactivity rule?

An account with no trading activity for 10 consecutive trading days is closed for inactivity. The count runs in trading days (market-open days), not calendar days — roughly two weeks — and it's applied per account: only the idle account closes, never your other accounts.

Every TradeSport challenge account carries exactly one activity requirement: the inactivity rule. An account with no trading activity for 10 consecutive trading days is closed for inactivity.

Key things to know:

  • The count runs in trading days, not calendar days. Trading days are days the market is open — weekends and market holidays don't count toward the streak. 10 trading days works out to roughly two calendar weeks.
  • It's applied per account. If you hold multiple accounts and one of them sits idle for 10 consecutive trading days, only that idle account is closed — your other active accounts are completely unaffected. Inactivity on one account never puts the rest of your accounts at risk.
  • Any trading activity restarts the count. Place a trade in an account and that account's inactivity count starts over from zero.
  • It applies to evaluation and sim-funded accounts alike. Both phases of the Two-Phase challenge and One-Phase sim-funded accounts carry the same 10-trading-day rule.

There are no other clocks on a challenge — no 30-day deadline, no expiration date (see "Is there a time limit on challenges?"). Trade at your own pace; just don't let an account you want to keep go completely dark for two weeks.
