Do affiliates get a 1099? How are affiliate taxes handled?

You are responsible for all taxes on your affiliate income. Tax forms such as the 1099-NEC are issued where required by U.S. law, which is why accurate tax information is required at enrollment and KYC must be completed before your first payout. Consult a tax professional about how affiliate income applies to your situation.

Tax forms, such as the 1099-NEC, are issued where required by U.S. law.

You are responsible for your taxes

Under the Affiliate Agreement, you are responsible for all taxes on your affiliate income. Affiliate commissions are paid to you as an independent affiliate, not as an employee.

What's needed from you

  • Accurate tax information, provided at enrollment and kept current
  • Completed identity verification (KYC) and your payout details on file before your first payout

Providing accurate registration and tax information is a condition of participating in the affiliate program.

Reporting your income

Whether or not you receive a tax form in a given year, affiliate income is generally taxable and should be reported. TradeSport can't give tax advice — consult a tax professional about deductions, estimated payments, and how affiliate income applies to your situation.

Note: this covers affiliate income. Trader payouts from challenges and Trade League are reported separately — tax documents for payout income are issued as required by law.

Questions about your tax forms can go to support@trade-sport.com. Full terms are in the Affiliate Agreement at /affiliate-agreement.
